No problem! !
A table is drawn on the tatami mat and a long and thin board is drawn. There is a taste here, but if it looks tough, I would recommend a table seat
Whether or not you eat until you are full, there are many customers who feel like eating in a cup of sake rather than eating until you are full. If drinks and meals are light, it will fit in a price that is not expensive.
It is about 3000 to 3500 yen.
If you don't want to wait, it will be better if you shift the meal time a little It might be good to wait in the chair before may be climate shop ... ?
You can use Visa, MasterCard, Diners, JCB and American Express as Suzuki says. We look forward to your visit.
Courage and curiosity us here and deviation from initial plan to eat ramen. There is no English sign whatsoever in front of the establishment. Truly authentic restaurant. It has a good ambience, feel like eating in the old style Japanese restaurant, especially if you sit down on the tatami. Staff can't speak English but can explain the menu with combination of a few words and hand gestures. Service is excellent. Dojou nabe is the main dishes (dojou is a loach, they taste like baby unagi but a lot softer and bony). Price range from 1300 to 2000*. Food portion is small for foreigners. I can say it's a quintessential culinary experience in Tokyo, a must visit especially if you stay in a quiet neighborhood like Asakusa.
Got the chance to visit one of the oldest restaurant in Tokyo. The place was good and the food as well. The price is reasonable.
Don't miss it. The service is excellent, friendly, and prompt, and the fish nabe is wonderful. In addition we had tofu dengaku, which also was very good. You can choose between sitting in chairs or on a matted area. Lovely experience.
Even though people may think this dishes looks really wired, the food is really delicious!!! It’s value to come here and try it.
Good food with nice services
very local and interesting place,be very sure you know/can eat dozens........otherwise you only can order eggs and whales like me...
A true Japanese experience. Lovely staff. Great food.
Very traditional “Dojo†restaurant.
This is amazing and delicious!!!
Delicious food
Don’t miss this old traditional restaurant over 200 years with I highly recommended Dozeu Nab (æ³¥é°éšï¼‰and Koi No Aria ( Carp sashimi 鯉éšåˆºèº«ï¼‰ðŸ˜‹ðŸ˜‹ðŸ˜‹ . Dozeu Nab is a small bony fish they also have choice deboneThey do have English menu and a waitress speak fluent Mandarin.
Clearly a tourist spot with modern Edo period settingPortion is small but perfect for me, a solo traveler who craves for other food:) Dojo meat is soft and smooth, bones are eatable Though it’s a one time experience, 2000~yen is still a bit pricey
Absolutely stunning traditional restaurant. Try their traditional dishes, you won't regret it! ðŸ
One unique experience. We ate on a tatami, the "mini eels" were delicious. Dozeu Nabe is a must try.
Authentic restaurant. There is no english sign infront of it. Courage and curiosity that lead me here. It has a good ambience, feel like eating in the old style japan restaurant. Staff can't speak english but can explain the menu with combination of english word and hand gesture. Serving Nabe as the main dishes.Price range from 1300Â¥ to 2000Â¥. Food portion is small for a foreigner.
Love the old and classical design of the place. The food test was ok, something completely different. Will comeback with more friends
Recommended by a local who said that this can't be found anywhere else. The food is amazing and delicious! It is really authentic. Service was good and the staffs are really helpful. Interesting dinning atmosphere as you get to sit on the floor and share a long table with others. Portions are good for a single person, though I would recommend sharing. Would really recommend this place!

Asakusa’s 駒形ã©ãœã† (Komakata Dozeu) is a restaurant founded in 1801 and devoted to dishes created using ã©ãœã† or pond loach, a sea creature eaten around Asia, but as far as I know, not common in the US except apparently as an aquarium fish. It was my second time this trip consuming the beast, and while it looks somewhat disturbing, I liked it well enough. I found the atmosphere festive, the dining room a vast expanse of tatami with wooden “tables†a few inches off the ground running the length of the room, and servers all wearing kimono. We had their two most popular dishes, ã©ã˜ã‚‡ã†é‹ (dojou nabe), which cooks over a charcoal brazier in front of you as you continually add green onion, and 柳å·é‹ (Yanagawa pot), dojou in sweet egg sauce that gradually hardens as you eat.
One of the " the only in Japan moment" for me was the seeing the never ending queue. Japanese is famous with queuing for anything from waiting for train, to waiting in front of restaurant, to queuing for toilet in the Lawson Mart and to queuing for Kabuki shows. They will queue patiently and orderly. Amazing.
Love this place, been a few times now and the food is always excellent. The atmosphere really makes it a must visit.
If you want to try and eat dojou (pond loach)' this is the place.
Fish is too soft. Price is a bit expensive.
Traditional setting was a nice experience. Soft dojo that melts in your mouth but i personally still prefer unagi. 😄
I really love the taste that they made. Must have a try especially in winter. The staffs are very friendly and helpful.
Just when I thought I had the best tempura, I had an even tastier experience. Really good menu with excellent tempura on offer. Generous portions.
Food and price 3, service 5.. atmosphere 5 given to a great experience sitting on the floor. I kept looking at my foot inches away from my food. :-D.. A bit pricey.
Fried fish bone so good 😊 must try
Nice atmosphere and I could try Japanese style loaches and whale bacon. If you like loaches or eating soft fish whole, you will like this place.
Wonderful place with a cool old school vibe where you sit on the floor and enjoy your meal and you can see everyone doing the same thing. It feels so communal and relaxing to just chill on the floor, kick back and have some small eels. The food is great, the small eel is nice and tender but it definitely is not as fatty as normal eels. As a result, this meal doesn’t fill you up as much, making it very easy to order a lot more or eat just enough so that you can go somewhere else after.Give this place a try if you are ever in the area of Asakusa!
Cool experience, you can add green onion or burdock on top of the hot pot
Amazing trandisional restaurant, very nice atmosphere, polite staff. Delicious food in reasonable price. I strongly recommend it.
Highly recommend coming here for a great local meal and experience. Loved it!
Extremely friendly staff. And the dozeu is soooooo soft which I enjoy so much. The tatami area is a wonderful place to dine. The interior decor has an old and traditional touch that you will just fall in love with. Hands down a perfect place to have meal and price is quite reasonable. You got to try it out!
You must-see this traditional restaurant. They have delicacy in old Tokyo. You can eat *Dojo-nabe. *Dojo is tiny fish and live in a pond.I have always brought someone who are important for me.
I was searching something authentic and this restaurant is fantastic!I have enjoy traditional Japanese food at a very good price. I never saw this meal before (with fish cooked on a metal plate in front of you with sake sauce). If you want to learn more about Japan go for it!
